The Young Peoples – Elders Gathering | oskâyak kihtiyatisak mâmawapiwin, is an extension of the Truth and Reconciliation Conference that UCN has hosted for the last 7 years. Join us on March 21 & 22, 2024 as we transition into this new style of conference, bringing together young people and elders to share their experiences and work towards healing as a community.
Since the initial release of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Report in 2015, the Canadian government, educational institutions, community organizations and Canadians have been responsible for repairing the harms caused by residential schools.
The Young Peoples – Elders Gathering | oskâyak kihtiyatisak mâmawapiwin theme is “Stoking the Embers: Connecting Generations” is about creating a space to learn and share information and participate in the healing work that often takes place around a fire; a symbol that brings everyone together.
