Elders' Council
For several years Elder Martha Peet has been sharing wisdom and providing guidance to the Blueprint Steering Committee. Our goal is to ensure Blueprint initiatives are community driven and focused on meeting the needs of Indigenous students. We understand fully that being advised by a strong Elders’ Council must be at the heart of this and we are in the process of forming an Elders’ or Grandparents’ Council.

Conference Report
On March 15-17, 2023, the Manitoba Collaborative Indigenous Education Blueprint (MCIEB) hosted its first annual education conference at the Victoria Inn and Conference Centre in Winnipeg. The
Inuktitut word, attausikuuluta, meaning "all together," was gifted by Elder Martha Peet to emphasize the collaborative nature of the MCIEB and the fact that excellence in Indigenous
education will only be achieved when educational organizations, government bodies and community all work together.

April 14th Re-Signing
On Friday, April 14, 2023, Manitoba's six universities, three colleges and the Manitoba School Boards Association gathered to reaffirm their commitment to making Indigenous education a priority in
Manitoba. In 2015, the parties signed the Manitoba Collaborative Indigenous Education Blueprint (the Blueprint) – an official partnership agreeing to advance 10 commitments informed by the
Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada's Calls to Action.
The Blueprint partners also welcomed three new but long-standing ex-officio members, who became official signatory partners – The Manitoba First Nations Education Resource Centre and the Province of Manitoba Advanced Education and Training and Education and Early Childhood Learning.
